Just moments ago, Anthropic announced the release of the Claude 4.8 Opus model. Serving as the successor to version 4.7, this new iteration boasts significantly improved performance in programming and coding tasks. Furthermore, the cost for its fast mode has been slashed threefold (a 3x reduction), while its base API pricing remains identical to 4.7. The model proves to be far more reliable and remarkably sharper in its judgment during task execution.
Additionally, Anthropic introduced a brand-new dynamic workflow. This allows Claude to host extended agent workflows and seamlessly undertake large-scale enterprise project tasks. It can simultaneously spin up hundreds of sub-agents to execute micro-tasks, validate outputs, and provide real-time feedback to the user. This feature is currently available for Claude Code for Enterprise, Team, and Max users.
I have to admit, Anthropic is serving up updates incredibly fast. Google’s Gemini 3.5 Pro isn't even due until next month, and it's anyone's guess how long 4.8 will dominate the top spot on the leaderboard.
