This test covers a RackNerd Black Friday plan priced at $39.88 per year when I bought it, with 3 vCPUs, roughly 4.5 GB RAM, and a Los Angeles DC-02 location. The original post already noted that the offer was no longer on sale; it should not be treated as a current price quote.
What the benchmark showed
The VM reported an Intel Xeon E5-2690 host CPU around 2.9 GHz, about 4.35 GiB usable memory, and about 96 GiB usable disk space. Short sysbench scores were 789 for one thread and 2,284 for three. Those figures do not prove that three allocated virtual CPUs equal one and a half physical cores.
The tested network had a nominal 1 Gbps port and the original plan described a 6 TB monthly transfer allowance. Short throughput and latency tests depend on the destination, congestion, and the instance’s state. A transfer allowance is not unlimited traffic.

The log is dated December 23, 2024 and is preserved with unchanged numbers and its Chinese labels. The old Debian installation was part of that test; use a currently supported release for a new deployment.

For an American audience, test the actual users and workload rather than relying on the China-route comparison.
At the time, I regarded the plan as inexpensive for small sites and experiments, with CPU performance as a compromise. The original post also referred to an outage without enough evidence to confirm its cause or duration, so no specific fire allegation is repeated here. Keep independent backups for data you cannot afford to lose, regardless of provider.
