LoveChoice Review: Small Gestures and Difficult Choices

Spoilers follow. LoveChoice is a short interactive game that I finished in roughly two hours. Its three stories explore different parts of a relationship, with puzzle-like interactions beyond the visible dialogue choices.

LoveChoice first relationship story

The first story: learning to notice

The first relationship begins at a game-development event and grows through meals, conversation, and small gestures. My first attempts treated it as a normal choice menu, which missed the intended interactions. That discovery can be charming or frustrating depending on what you expect.

The second story: distance

LoveChoice story about distance and music

This was my favorite. A small piano becomes a shared connection, and music gives the couple a way to remain close as their lives move in different directions. The ending that affected me most allows both people to pursue their futures, rather than treating separation as proof that the relationship meant nothing.

The third story: trust

The final story leans further into puzzles and suspicion before revealing the couple’s surprises for each other. It asks how much trust can coexist with uncertainty.

My reaction

Some puzzles feel deliberately obscure, and the first story can make one person’s effort feel excessive. I do not think a real partner should expect someone to decode every hidden signal. Still, the game captures the awkward process of learning how to show care.

Its strongest idea for me is that affection can appear in actions as well as words. Relationships need reciprocal effort, not a perfect answer to every puzzle. That is why I still regard the game warmly despite its flaws.
