The original article compared Cloudflare, Gcore, and Edgio as free CDN options. Several claims in that list are now outdated, so this English version explains what to check before using a historical comparison to choose a service.

Cloudflare
Cloudflare offers a Free plan with CDN and security features for supported websites. That does not mean every paid firewall, bot-management, or rate-limit feature is included, and it does not establish Cloudflare as universally fastest in every region.
For an ordinary full-zone setup, you typically move authoritative DNS to Cloudflare. Other integration models depend on the product and plan. Also read the content-delivery terms: the standard Free CDN is not an unrestricted way to distribute video or a disproportionate amount of large files. Use an appropriate media service for that workload.
Gcore
The older Gcore comparison described a 1 TB free allowance. On September 25, 2026, Gcore announced a pay-as-you-go CDN plan replacing Free, Start, and Pro. Check its current pricing and any trial or migration terms rather than assuming the former allowance remains available to a new account.
A provider’s network size or European presence does not prove it will be fastest for your users. Test representative locations, cache hit behavior, TLS setup, and costs for traffic beyond a trial or included allowance.
Edgio is a historical entry
The original Edgio link should not be treated as a current free-CDN recommendation. After Edgio’s 2024 bankruptcy filing, Akamai announced its winning bid for selected assets. The old list’s description no longer gives a reliable picture of a service you can sign up for today.
For a small site, begin with current terms, the type of content you serve, and the locations of your readers. Free pricing can be useful, but a plan’s limits, supported features, and migration path matter as much as the headline.
