Just an hour ago, Valve dropped a small update — nothing major this time. Mostly performance optimizations, some tweaks to weapon animations, and a few adjustments to the new 4v3 Retake mode.
The fun part? The comment section is absolutely on fire. 🔥
A ton of players are signing mock petitions asking Valve to reverse the new Trade-Up Contract rule, where you can now trade five red-tier skins for a single knife or glove.
Some players are furious — saying things like “CS built its empire on the skin market, and now Valve just caused the biggest financial crash since the 2008 crisis!” (LMAO, I felt that pain).
Others are surprisingly supportive: “Finally, Valve’s cleaning up the CS market — it’s about time!”
Meanwhile, the long-standing VAC anti-cheat complaints are still echoing through the community. Many are urging Valve to roll out an update during the current competitive season, since matches above 20,000 rating are basically god-tier hacker battles now.
So far though, there hasn’t been much movement — most bans lately are just from XP-boosting or pass-grinding bots.
With the Trade-Up Contract and Retake mode updates out of the way, it’s safe to say Valve’s going quiet again for a while… maybe until the next lunar eclipse or Year of the Monkey update.
