Roadside Research combines gas-station management with undercover aliens. I played while it was in Early Access, so these impressions reflect that build rather than every later update.
The main tasks are fueling cars, keeping the tanks supplied, stocking the convenience store, taking payments, and cleaning. You also pursue alien research and secret tasks while keeping suspicion low.

Playing alone felt demanding early on. Trash could initially be picked up individually and exchanged at the laboratory for research points; bags and bins became available through upgrades.

Cleaning was the most tiring part for me. Slime on the floor needed attention to avoid raising suspicion, and the restroom became dirty quickly. Managing cleaning, fueling, restocking, and checkout alone was a lot of work.
My main complaint was the limited variety after several hours. A friend could make the workload more enjoyable, but the early loop still became repetitive. Completing all upgrades would take longer without necessarily solving that problem.
At the time, I preferred waiting for more content or a discount. Check the current update history before deciding: an Early Access game can change substantially. The idea of aliens trying to act like ordinary gas-station workers remains a fun starting point.
