Telegram’s March 1, 2026 update introduced group member tags and several practical chat tools. The Android and iOS clients received the new features.
Member tags
Members can display a short tag beside their name. Administrators decide whether members may edit their own tags or only admins can assign them. Admin tags use a different color to make the role visible.

Disable sharing in a private chat
Premium users can select Disable Sharing from a person’s profile menu. Telegram describes restrictions on forwarding, screenshots, and saving media in that chat. This helps limit casual redistribution, but cannot prevent someone from recording a screen with another device.

Other additions
GIFs can have captions and be edited with text, drawings, and trimming. Photos can become stickers from the media viewer. Visible-vote polls show voting timestamps, and all bots can enable streamed replies.
The update also adds Telegram login for apps and websites, plus date formatting that adapts to the recipient’s time zone. I particularly liked the private-chat sharing control. See Telegram’s announcement for instructions.
