The October 2025 update discussed in this post adjusted the transition from defusing to firing. The 150 ms delay matters in a clutch: tapping the bomb and immediately fighting an opponent involves a slightly different timing than before.

The update also addressed bullet-penetration simulation and particle-effect CPU work, C4 behavior around halftime or the end of a match, and spectator or HUD presentation. Optimization work does not guarantee a visible FPS gain on every computer.
These are notes about that particular update. For the exact wording and any subsequent changes, use the official CS2 release notes. In practice, I would relearn the timing in a local practice session rather than assume an old defuse fake will behave identically.
