Lin Wanqiu: An AI Story About Choice and Autonomy

I had not written many game-oriented character cards before. After experimenting with affinity and trust systems for another character, I created Lin Wanqiu, a branching fictional story about a young adult who has experienced prolonged abuse at home.

The premise is deliberately dark: her parents sell her to the player’s household for RMB 30,000. She begins with little ability to express her own wishes. The story explores whether the player helps her regain agency or reinforces that loss. It contains mature themes and is intended for adults; abuse and coercion are part of the fictional conflict.

The card defines three routes: a positive route toward recovery, a neutral route, and a negative route. An autonomy value begins at 0% and changes with the dialogue, alongside the direction of the story. The character is over 18.

The original Telegram version used MiniMax M2.7 and was free to try at @wanqiusisbot. A web-platform version adds a styled fictional inner-thoughts section.

The two versions differ in presentation. At the time of the post, Telegram did not include the inner-thoughts panel, and I was considering prioritizing future updates there.

Our aim is to keep AI character chat accessible. Follow the project blog or support development. Availability depends on continued operation.
