Last night, Beijing time, OpenAI released its brand new model, ChatGPT 5.5. This model outperforms 5.4 in writing and debugging code, conducting online research, analyzing data, creating documents and spreadsheets, operating software, and seamlessly switching between tools until a task is completed. Furthermore, OpenAI stated that the 5.5 model performs on par with 5.4 in terms of Token speed. If used specifically for coding (CodeX), the speed is even better, providing a superior experience without sacrificing efficiency.
Currently, the API has not yet been rolled out, but OpenAI plans to price the base model at $5 per 1 million input tokens and $30 per 1 million output tokens, featuring a context window of 1 million tokens. The Pro version will cost $30 per 1 million input tokens and a staggering $180 per 1 million output tokens.
