Telegram Gift Spam: Hide Gifts and Check Conversion Limits

Unsolicited Telegram gifts can include an advertising message. A sender’s payment for the gift does not make that message welcome. My original post complained about gifts cluttering profiles and channels.

Telegram gift and Star conversion controls

Check whether the gift is visible on your profile and hide it if you do not want to display it. Some gifts can be converted back to Stars only within a limited period. The original client showed a seven-day deadline; follow the eligibility and amount displayed for your gift.

The returned amount may be less than the sender paid. That does not establish one universal 15% fee for every gift type. Collectible and upgraded gifts have additional rules.

Stars and withdrawals are different balances

Personal Stars can be spent on supported purchases, gifts, or reactions. Eligible bot or channel revenue has separate reward and withdrawal terms. Do not assume you can turn an unsolicited gift into cash by tipping your own channel.

The original arithmetic also needed correction: $0.0013 times 1,000 is $1.30, not $13. Reward rates, minimum balances, and waiting periods should come from the applicable current terms, not that mistaken calculation.

See Telegram’s gift documentation and Stars documentation. I submitted a suggestion about unsolicited gift advertising because I would like clearer controls for unwanted gifts.
