Common Telegram Scams: Affiliates, Gift Cards, and Jobs

If you use public Telegram groups, unsolicited offers are common. Visibility in a group can be enough for a stranger to find your account; it does not prove that a channel sold your personal information.

1. Referral and affiliate offers

Some messages offer a commission for bringing friends to betting sites, high-return deposits, or other projects. Even if you are not asked to pay, your referrals may lose money and the promised commission may never arrive. Verify the business rather than treating a friendly recruiter as evidence.

2. Discounted gift-card resale

A seller may offer a few small successful transactions, then disappear after you place a larger order. Claims that a card comes from stolen funds are another reason to avoid the offer, not proof that an easy profit is available.

3. Job offers with upfront fees

Large recruitment channels can use fabricated subscribers. A supposed recruiter may discuss an attractive overseas job, then demand a processing fee before blocking you.

Suspicious recruitment payment request

Check the employer through independent contact details and understand the work, contract, location, and visa requirements. Paying an unknown account for a promised position can expose you to fraud or a much more dangerous recruitment situation.

Before you proceed

Subscriber counts, profile photos, and a claimed escrow arrangement are not reliable identity checks. Use an established transaction channel with suitable protections where possible, and verify any intermediary separately. Telegram’s privacy features do not make a stranger trustworthy.

Pause when the offer combines urgency, secrecy, unusually high returns, or irreversible payment. Friends introduced to an offer deserve the same scrutiny as your own money.
