7 Days to Die mixes zombie combat, looting, crafting, and base defense. My original review mistakenly described a full release as still upcoming; the game had already left its long Early Access period before this post.

Start with survival needs
Follow the introductory tasks and keep an eye on hunger, thirst, health, and stamina. Search buildings for supplies while improving weapons and defenses. Inventory space matters: prioritize things that help you survive the next few days.
Traders, quests, and progression
Traders offer goods and tasks such as clearing a building of zombies. Rewards and skill points support progression. Books and magazines unlock or improve many crafting systems, though the original “90%” estimate was not a measured statistic.

Prepare for the Blood Moon
Plan defenses and supplies before a horde night rather than relying on ordinary exploration gear. Co-op makes sharing resources and assigning tasks especially valuable. Airdrops, quests, and mods provide additional variety.
My verdict
I like the tension of searching for supplies while preparing a shelter. Lighting and atmosphere can make encounters unsettling. Early difficulty, repetitive late-game quests, and uneven performance were my main complaints.
It can support a long playthrough if you enjoy building and survival, but no fixed number of hours is guaranteed. Later you may create a comfortable base or villa, provided you keep preparing for the next attack.
